All seven puppies are doing very well. They will be placed the first week of October. The goal of this breeding is to produce dogs that will hunt for the hunter under a variety of conditions in the field, forest, and water. With strong pointing instinct and a desire to please their owner. These puppies will make excellent home companions that will hunt their hearts out.
Details of the "C" Litter

Fern is three years old. She received a Prize 1 Natural Ability test score. Her hips are OFA Good. Her coat and conformation were judged to be very good to excellent.
Fern's father is Versitle Champion VC Cody Vom Apfelbaumbach and her mother is Loose's Jaika. Jaika is a Natural Ability Test Prize 1, Utility Test Prize 1, and just missed becoming a Versatile Champion by 1 point at the NAVHDA Invatational this year. As you can see Fern comes from very strong parents.
Fern has a very strong point. She does very well on grouse and woodcock. She has also hunted pheasants in North and South Dakota.

Jerry Vom Buchenberg "Zip"

Meet Zip. Zip is a 4 year old German import. Born October 10, 2005. He is owned and handled by Ken Hamele from Nebraska. Ken hunts Zip on pheasants over 30 days a year. Zip has a Prize 1 Natural Ability test, Prize 1 Utility Test, and just missed becoming a Versatile Champion by 1 point at the NAVHDA invitational this year. His hips have been PennHip scored at L-0.39 & R-0.26 which are very good.
Zips range of hunting experience is pretty wide. He has retrieved ducks, geese, dove, chukar, grouse, prairie chicken, quail and pheasant. He has helped out at two local controlled shooting areas since the fall of 2007. In 2007/2008 he had about 1,200 birds shot over him and in 2008/2009 there were 2,000+ birds shot over him. This year he will be on hunts in Iowa, South Dakota (twice) and Nebraska. He is an excellent retriever and very good at marking downed birds. He is trained to make blind retrieves across open water as well as follow a scent track.
