Puppies are doing well.  Unfortunately we lost one of the girls on Friday :(  Very sad.
Tomorrow they will go to the vet for a check up and dew claw removal.

 Minutes old.

All pups and mom are doing well!

The breeding between Ivy and Hemi is intended to produce dogs that will hunt for the gun.  Ivy and Hemi both are outstanding pointing dogs.  Their abilities allow them to be very good upland and wildfowl hunters.  This litter will produce dogs that are great in the home.  As Ivy and Hemi both are very nice home companions.  They are stable dogs that are good around other animals, people, and kids.
I give priorty to potential buyers that hunt.  And those that will hunt test the puppies.  I believe that testing dog is the only way to determine if a breeding was successful from an hunting ability stand point.
Please contact me if you are interested in aquiring a puppy from this breeding.

Gunnwood's Eva v Kain "Ivy"

Picture
Ivy was born May 17th, 2005. She has passed the NAVHDA Natural Ability test with a Prize I 112 pts.  Which is a perfect score!  Ivy ran in the NAVHDA Utility Test in September 2008 at 3.4 years.  She scored a Prize II 194 pts out of 204 pts. Ivy had a very strong effort at her Utility Test.  Ivy finished 3rd in the 2006 Great Lakes Chucker Classic, 1st at the 2007 Classic and 2nd at the 2008 Classic.  These are hunting competitions against other Small Munsterlanders.

Her PennHip is R-0.29 and L-0.29.  Her hip rating is in the top 5% of all small munsterlanders that have been PennHiped.

Ivy is 50 cm tall and weighs 36 lbs. Ivy is on the small side of the height and weight standard.  Her size is ideal for living in the home and traveling with the family.

Ivy has a lot of go in the field.  She has a very progressive field search and does not waste any time covering an area.  She has a high prey drive and a very strong pointing instinct.  When she is asked to retrieve from water or land she does it with abandon.

Ivy spends her days as a family pet and lives in the home with us.  She is very calm and relaxed when in the house.  She has a great temperment.  Ivy gets along well with all dogs and people. She is an all around great dog.

Hunting Hill's Hemlock "Hemi"

Picture
Hunting Hills' Hemi lives with the Kris and Jeff Hill at Brainard, Nebraska.  He has a wonderful, happy disposition with dogs and people alike.  This Small Munsterlander has a thorough search, staunch point, and nice retrieves in the field and water.  Hemi scored a maximum 112 Prize I in his NA test and 204 in his UT test. His hips were certified PennHip L- 0.32/R - 0.38. Those scores are good to very good hip scores. He sired his first NAVHDA Breeders Award Litter for Hunting Hills J litter.
